CLEAN CUT SVG - FREE LASER CUTTER BEGINNER FILES https://cleancutsvg.com/laser-cutter-beginner-files/ 12 beginner laser files for library, school and community makerspaces. Each comes as SVG (use this one), DXF and a PNG preview. No account, no email, nothing to buy. LICENSE FOR THIS PACK Libraries, schools and makerspaces may copy, cut and share these files with patrons and students, including on a shared drive, a class site or the computer next to the laser. Please don't sell the files themselves. This license covers this pack only; the rest of cleancutsvg.com uses its normal license (https://cleancutsvg.com/license/). HOW THE FILES ARE COLORED Red hairline (#FF0000, 0.001 in stroke) = CUT Blue hairline (#0000FF, 0.001 in stroke) = SCORE (a light line on the surface) Black fill (#000000) = ENGRAVE Most laser software groups a file by color, so you can give each color its own setting. Check how your machine's software reads cut, score and engrave before the first job; the page above links each maker's own instructions. The material test card uses extra colors on purpose (one per square), listed in material-test-card-colors.txt. SIZES AND MATERIAL Every file opens at its real size in inches and is 11 x 11 in or smaller, so it fits common desktop laser beds. Joints (box, kerf comb) are drawn for 3 mm (about 1/8 in) sheet with no kerf allowance. We never include power or speed settings: they depend on your machine, lens, material and air assist. Cut the material test card first and write down what works. ONLY CUT MATERIALS YOUR LASER'S MAKER APPROVES. Never cut PVC or vinyl. Never leave a running laser unattended. See the page above for each maker's safety and materials page. SOFTWARE CHECK Every piece that falls out of the sheet and every engraved area was checked by our software at this size for parts thinner than 0.06 in or smaller than 0.12 in (software checks, not physical test cuts on every machine). Single cut lines (puzzle seams, hinge slits, the kerf gauge blocks) are not area shapes; their pieces were checked one by one. DXF FILES DXF has no fills: the ENGRAVE layer holds outlines, so set that layer to engrave/fill in your software (or use the SVG). Layers: CUT (red), SCORE (blue), ENGRAVE. FILES - material-test-card: Material test card (5 x 5 engrave grid + 5 cut circles). 5.00 x 6.88 in. Give each colored square its own power/speed (keep one setting fixed along a row, change the other across the columns) and each circle its own cut setting. Black labels engrave at a setting you already trust. - kerf-test-comb: Kerf and fit test comb (slots 2.6-3.4 mm). 6.12 x 2.75 in. Cut it from your 3 mm (1/8 in) sheet, then slide a scrap of the same sheet into each slot. The snug one tells you the slot width to draw for press-fit joints on this machine and material. - kerf-gauge-10-blocks: Kerf gauge (100 mm window, ten 10 mm blocks). 4.75 x 2.12 in. Cut, push the ten blocks tight to one side and measure the gap with calipers or a feeler gauge. Kerf = gap / 11 (the window grows by one kerf, each block shrinks by one). - cut-score-engrave-sampler: Cut, score and engrave sampler tag. 4.25 x 2.88 in. One file with all three: black fill engraves, blue lines score (a light line on the surface), red lines cut through. - finger-joint-box-3x3x2in: Finger-joint box with lid, 3 x 3 x 2 in outside (for 3 mm / 1/8 in sheet). 9.75 x 7.75 in. Seven pieces: bottom, four walls, lid and lid lip. Fingers are drawn at exactly 3 mm with no kerf allowance, so joints come out a little loose; a drop of wood glue holds them. Glue the lip under the lid, centered. - living-hinge-sample: Living hinge sample (lattice hinge, 2 mm strips). 5.25 x 2.75 in. A 5 x 2.5 in panel with a 1.5 in lattice hinge in the middle, drawn for 3 mm plywood. Cut it, then bend it gently over a can. The slits are single red lines. - name-keychain-blank: Name keychain, blank (add a name in your laser's app). 3.25 x 1.25 in. 3 x 1 in tag with a 0.22 in key-ring hole. Type a name in your laser software's text tool and center it in the blue frame. - name-keychain-maker: Name keychain, example "MAKER". 3.25 x 1.25 in. Same tag with a sample word engraved. Replace the word with a name in your software, or cut it as is. - snowflake-ornament: Round ornament with engraved snowflake (3 in). 3.25 x 3.50 in. 3 in round ornament with a hanging tab. The snowflake engraves, the ring scores, the outline cuts. - round-coaster-4in: Round coaster with engraved pattern (4 in). 4.25 x 4.25 in. 4 in round coaster. The scalloped ring and star engrave; the inner circle scores. - bookmark-read: Bookmark with two cut-out stars and engraved READ (2 x 6.5 in). 2.25 x 6.75 in. Drawn for 3 mm (1/8 in) or thinner sheet. The stars cut through, READ engraves and the blue frame scores. - jigsaw-puzzle-12-piece: 12-piece jigsaw puzzle (6 x 4.5 in, blank). 6.25 x 4.75 in. Engrave a picture or a name on the blank first (place it in your software), then cut. Each seam is a single red line, so nothing is cut twice.
